That's a great idea on the irish terrain limts. We often use pre-set terrain and will end up with a lot more terrain because it just looks a lot better. The standard scenario terrain generators (like most systems where terrain placement becomes a part of the battle plan) generates ugly and unrealistic tables, even if they are "fair".

Another thought is to not allow shooting from terrain elements containing enemy troops. That allows you to send in scouts and secure areas to operate from.

Breaking out some of your units into smaller than average can help if the opponent really likes Sons of Dana. If they are only getting a couple of dice, they will often not waste them Fir Bolg and Eagle Eye on them, which might force them to bring some of their units out to play. Admittedly, using lots of smaller units is often tricky, but it may be worth a shot, especially if you have ways to bump up the combat power of small units.

Since "Sons of Dana" gives with a stag a +1 bonus, does this bonus already counts for "Eagle eye"? You know, you have to "score a result higher than 3" ... ;)

As the attacker, it is your prerogative in which order you apply the two +1 bonuses you receive from these abilities.

So if you apply the +1 from the "Sons of dana" first, then all threes you rolled will be fours when you come to apply "Eagle eye", and so will receive the +1 bonus, for an end result of five.

If you apply the "Eagle eye" first, dice that have a score of three will remain unmodified at three, which when you then apply "Sons of dana" will become fours.

See page 50 of C&C, timing conflicts.

I like that idea. We should definitely do that.
