Saxon bucklers

Where figures and manufacturers are discussed, all relevant to the Saga or Muskets and Tomahawks periods, needless to say

Saxon bucklers

Postby PeraNekron » Tue Feb 21, 2017 5:20 pm

Hey guys,

Had no idea where to post, so I figured I might do it here.

We all know early Saxons used bucklers, rather than full fledged round shields we all know and love. What would be the best way to get those?
I tend to avoid Gripping Beast metal models, so I thought of kitbashing Hirdmen/Dark Age warriors plastics with buckler shields. I could grind those round shields down to size, but that would probably take too much time and effort.

Thanks in advance.

There are metal shields that can be had on ebay. Here is an example I quickly found by searching for metal shields:

look at the ACR50 round shield pack as a possibility?

It is always worth considering dropping an email to the GB boys to ask about just purchasing some specific metal shields from them too. I always find them very helpful. I know they do some smaller buckler type shields etc.

Ah I found them on their site: http://www.grippingbeast.co.uk

There are actually quite a range of bucklers. Just search bucklers to call them up.

You can also search for "shields" to find the 14mm and 13mm versions of the normal shields.
