it all looks really good, the westwind fig looks massive compared to the GB one I thought they would be closer in scale

West Wind Arthurian models are really good and sit very well with GB metals. I mix n match them in my WAB armies all the time to good effect. I think GB plastics are a tad smaller than some of their metals, esp Soapy's Age of Arthur sculpts (e.g. Welsh, early Saxons) which are large.

Back on topic, the warband looks really good. Well done!

Cheers guys,

Yeah the west winds are tall I was surprised when I saw my plan is ti maybe mix them up with another manufacturer to make two units

Here's a question though, getting flock today, what do you all recommend? Not sure what's in the shop, but I would like sone big grass/tufts I've seen elsewhere, what's your advice?

I do have some snow which I'm tempted to use but if I I did I would lick to use it with some other flock

Cheers all

MaL

Mininatur and army painter make the tufts, the mininatur silflur range is much bigger, better and cheaper i got some from mutineer miniatures at a show and kept a card then ordered from their website, very fast http://www.mutineerminiatures.com/index ... mumvcg60h5

So I got myself some flock today, some Gale Force 9 'Dark Green Grass' and 'Meadow Blend Flock'.

Here is the photo of my Warlord and 1st unit of Huscarls...

Quite pleased how they turned out, but have to admit look better irl (more fluffy somehow) the Gale Force 9 stuff seems pretty good but to fair it is the only scenic products i've tried.

What do you guys think of my anglo-danish defending the pretty meadow foilage lol

Cheers,

MaL

(now i'm off to the sheffield beer and cider festival!!! )

Very nice, like the basing, GBP figures are excellent, cant wait for their unarmoured dark age set.

Army painter tufts appear to just be Silfor packs cut in half, renamed and repackaged.

There's no detectable difference except that the Army Painter ones are about twice the price per tuft.
